Description
Browns Canyon comprises the eastern half of the popular whitewater boating section of the Arkansas River near Buena Vista. The unit includes both the BLM lands along the river and the higher surrounding national forest lands on Aspen Ridge, which at 10,000 feet affords magnificent views of the 14,000-foot peaks of the Sawatch Range to the west. The area is located within the Browns Canyon National Monument established in 2015.
