As one of Colorado’s famous fourteeners, Redcloud Peak yields stunning views of red-topped peaks and lush green valleys. The peak, regarded as one of Colorado’s quintessential mountain views, connects by saddle to its sister mountain, Sunshine Peak. The Uncompahgre fritillary butterfly, an endangered species, has been found only to exist on Redcloud and Uncompahgre peaks in Colorado. The land hides many other treasures, including aquifers providing locals with drinkable water. Along with many other animals, the peaks are famously home to a thriving population of big-horn sheep.
