Grape Creek

32,884 acres

Photo: John Fielder

Description

Granite Creek carves a rugged and scenic canyon through the granite foothills of the Wet Mountains, and its riparian corridor comprises an important wildlife corridor between the Wet Mountain Valley and the Arkansas River. Grape Creek is a large perennial stream prized by anglers, and offers accessible primitive recreation opportunities to residents of nearby Canon City. Its canyon is one of relatively few undeveloped valleys along Colorado’s Front Range.
